When I started designing the Pom Honey Pot, I knew I wanted it to be more than just a pretty dish for Rosh Hashanah. I wanted it to carry meaning, the kind you feel every time you reach for it.

The first inspiration was the Jewish star. When you pour in the honey, the base of the pot shapes it into a perfect star. It’s a little hidden surprise that makes the ritual feel extra special. That star isn’t just an afterthought though. Flip the pot over and you’ll see the star in the foot, because it’s also the foundation of the whole form.

The second inspiration was the pomegranate. I love its symbolism. Abundance, sweetness, and tradition. I shaped the pot with that round, full energy in mind. It also ties in beautifully with my Pom Kiddush Cup, while still feeling like its own unique piece.

I also wanted it to be versatile. Yes, it’s perfect for dipping apples in honey at Rosh Hashanah, but it can also show up on your Shabbat table holding small noshes, or even on your Passover table with saltwater.

As a potter, I care just as much about how something feels in your hands as how it looks on your table. Handmade ceramics carry this special kind of energy. It slows you down and makes the moment feel elevated. It reminds you of the holiness of the apples and honey ritual.
